Announcing
lj_advisory
We are pleased to announce the creation of the
lj_advisory community, set up so you can find news and information related to the activities of the Advisory Board. We recognize that it has taken us a while to get this community up and running, and that has caused some frustration. From now on, we will post topics which will be discussed by the Advisory Board prior to the date of the meeting and summaries of meetings after they occur. Throughout the year, the Advisory Board may also post requests for opinions on topics which may be discussed at future meetings. This is the official community for communication with the Advisory Board – comments will be read by Advisory Board members who will respond as they feel appropriate.
RTE + Opera and Safari = <3
RTE stands for Rich Text Editor, which is the default method of posting entries from the Post an Entry page. Our Rich Text Editor is based on the open-source FCKeditor code. It allows you to make links or LiveJournal user tags, insert photos or videos, and format your entries without needing to know HTML. That is, unless you use Opera or Safari as a browser, in which case you couldn't use the RTE.
That will be changing today. We are pleased to announce that the RTE has been upgraded to the latest version of the FCK code, which includes support for Opera and Safari! In addition, many of the bugs in the old version have been fixed. If you've been using RTE, you will most likely need to clear your browser's cache in order to use the new version.

Last year we changed the visual display of deleted and suspended usernames from a line through the username to a bold font. This had the effect of making the name unclickable - which meant that no one could easily determine whether the username had been deleted or suspended. We've reversed this display, returning deleted and suspended usernames to a struck-through and clickable state.

I had nothing better to do and then I wanted to draw Mikan. I wanted to portray her in her teens with all the curves and all. I was browsing through various scans to get an idea for Mikan's outfit. I came across Mikuru Asahina from "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" in her cheerleader outfit. Mikuru-chan's pose was so cute too, so I based Mikan's pose from Mikuru. I wanted to make the bust size smaller, but the pic gets messed up every time I try to change it.

Narumi done in a real life style (small pic here and humongously big pic here (click to zoom in please))
His eyes are indeed green not purple because I do everything by manga-canon ... in which he has green eyes. (Thanks
jczala for telling me!)
Yes my scanner ate it up for lunch. >< The original pic in my sketchbook is much more amazing, I assure you (because the scanner ate up most of my shading and darker tones his face looks a bit ... wobbly, espcially the left cheek). Stupid scanner. It takes five whole minutes just to scan one picture, and that's without any cropping or editing or annoying frozen computers...
Also a picture of an older Sumire. Using her Alice. My first coloured face picture.
And Serina-sensei. Bleh..
I also have outline sketches for Misaki, Natsume and Mikan (but those two are really bad so I might not use them). I'll put them up some other time.
I have pictures of Team Rocket in real-life as well (but that's not GA so you'll have to go to my dA account instead).

today's my free day from school. a typical day... I should be studying and reviewing right now for my midterms in Organic Chem and Biology lab subjects but the problem is, I'm not. lol. I'm such a procrastinator. T_T
but instead, I'm here again, in front of the monitor, snooping in to my ears some great music, and typing away with my lazy fingers.. I should really be studying now. (haha!)
but yea, my birthday was over and I am happy with how it went. Quality time with friends and loved ones, events at school, and dinner with family-- A simple-sweet 17th birthday..Just what i like... :)
hmm.. I watched Mummy 3 curse of the dragon emperor and i was disappointed..It was very simple and the fact that Mrs. O'conell wasn't played by Rachel Weiss, i hate it. I actually wished at that moment that I was inside the cinema showing Wall-E! I just wanna share. XD
*sigh* major exams tomorrow.. I just hope I could get out of it alive. xD
and so, till here...*pretending and convincing myself that i would go study right away* lol.
ciao!
P.s.
I love my new mood theme. that's David Archuleta in there! wahaha. :))

Everything is a headache.
The new quarter is ahead of me and I don't doubt that it too has its bottle filled with stress.
And i can say, I'm not too willing to drink it.
And too all the people who are suddenly being snapped at by me, sorry its that time of the month.

Every time I have read that our government is taking action against birth control because it considers this option as a type of abortion, I bite my tongue to repress seething rage. If this were not a turn of phrase then I would have gnawed it off by now and rendered speechless. The following is by no means a comprehensive argument, but it more or less adheres to the train of thought that occurs in response.
I am stunned that middle aged caucasian males (and self righteous pharmacists) have taken it upon themselves to decide the limitations of another person's body. I suppose their socioeconomic privileges have not afforded them the experience of a typical visit to the gynecologist's office. From my personal experiences and the narratives from others in my life, the birth control pill is the panacea of female health. From the point of puberty if there is any issue considered out of the ordinary (normal being a complete farce itself) in relation to the menstrual cycle, birth control is prescribed. The gamut of problems include but are not limited to: light flow, heavy flow, short days, long days, irregular cycles, pain, premenstrual symptoms, and more serious complications such as clotting, fibroids, or cysts. Aside from all this, medication is often provided to regulate hormones in general and even cure acne. Birth control can be considered as common as pain reliever, and is issued to cure whatever ails.
Since adolescence I have been prescribed this medication for nearly every reason aside from the namesake of birth control. It is incredibly misleading and naysayers have used it to their advantage to create a pro-life uproar. Even if it is a trivial case of semantics, I would prefer birth control pills to be relabeled as hormone regulators or something with a similar notion. This medicine is not an absolute solution to menstrual related symptoms or preventing pregnancy, and various side effects are often overlooked. I am at risk as a guinea pig in search of a more tolerable menses, and hoping that long term manipulation of hormone levels does not result in cancer. (It is an exaggeration in part, but I have had others who were concerned and with their own horror stories.)
Not considering the pill itself, the stigma of unplanned pregnancy lies solely with the female. It seems that when placing judgment, society quickly forgets basic biology and high school health classes. Immaculate conception is not the reason for single mothers, and it is convenient for legislation to place blame on those who have taken responsibility. To prevent cycles of dysfunction for future generations, let others have control over their own lives and decide if and when they wish to procreate.
If the government is so concerned about precious eggs being fertilized, then why not consider a solution where males are rendered temporarily sterile. I do not state this in jest or as a flippant remark, but as a proponent for further development of a male birth control pill. There are already studies and research well underway; however there is not the same acceptance as when females initially considered the option as a form of liberation. Or is every sperm considered sacred as well ?
